For those who don't know, astrology is all about timing. Sailors used the stars to map their journeys at night. The Moon's phases guided many a farmer and gardener in the past, and still do today, coming from the simple belief that the Moon governs moisture. I was always told...don't plant your flowers until after the first full moon in June. <G> So true. If I did it anytime before, we were sure to have the risk of frost ruining those flowers that I had been so anxious to plant after a long winter of cold and snow.

I speak of this because timing is everything and late tonight, in fact on Dec. 18 at 1:30 a.m. EST, the New Moon enters Sagittarius. New moons represent new beginnings, and as the new moon enters Sagittarius, it gives us the opportunity to focus on some of the positive qualities of Sagittarius - being optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, independent – and consider how to positively incorporate these qualities into our lives. Now is a time when we can focus on the goals or dreams that will increase our understanding and awareness, giving us the courage to follow our heart's desires and act on them with confidence and optimism. Being the last new moon of 2017, it's a powerful time to be still, to listen to our heart, to what our Soul is calling us to do in service of the highest good for all. Bring these dreams to light. Set them in motion and watch the miracles unfold as we journey into 2018.
So it is fitting that we meet today here on FB Live! Timing is indeed everything. <G>

As we enter the New Moon in Sagittarius, what does Spirit want us to know for our highest good?

"Happy, Happy" is our anchor card, reminding us to "find joy in the present moment, whatever is happening, and to be satisfied with things as they are."
This New Moon in Sagittarius is a time to reflect, to look back over this past year with gratitude and joy. It's important to remember what we loved about this past year, celebrating our victories and our challenges. Remember the moments we laughed or spent time with that special someone who enriched our life. When we think about what we didn't like, do we focus on the negative or can we see how that experience helped us to grow, and celebrate the lessons learned?
When you look back on the difficult times, the struggles in your life, do you tend to focus on the negative or are you able to see the lessons learned?
I love another one of Colette's cards, Fork in the Road #13, for it reminds me "Take heart, as no matter which path you choose, you will have a rich and meaningful experience." It's important that when we reflect upon this past year, we find the richness and meaning in all of the experiences that we have been gifted with.
"Treasure Island", which was gifted to us in our reading on Thursday, reminds us that we have worked hard, and uncovered the map to the buried treasure and unlimited potential that is within us.
The guide book says, "What you must hone now is your ability to recognize when X marks the spot, because some of these golden opportunities may be obvious, but others may not be so readily apparent. Trust your intuition to light your way now as you enter this truly prosperous phase, where all the long, hard work navigating your inner life is now paying off externally. In all aspects of your life at this time, you have good fortune. Don't forget to enjoy it and share it with others, as treasure shared multiplies like magic."
This supports the message of "Happy, Happy", affirming that we are called to find the treasure in all of our life experiences and to share that treasure with others.
What treasures have others shared with you?
Our third card, "The Fates" has a message for our highest good. It says, "The Serenity Prayer sums up the meaning of this card. "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." There are things in life you will never have control over. The conditions brought on by the evolution of the collective, by nature, and by your past experiences may be fated, preordained by Spirit for a greater purpose you cannot understand in this lifetime. It may not be in your cards to understand why certain events occurred, but you can accept the mystery and work with what those events and your current circumstances have to teach you. This is the wisdom contained in the Serenity Prayer."
So, in reflecting on 2017, it's in our highest good to seek out the treasure, the lessons that all our life experiences have to teach us ... the happy times, the sad times, the challenges, the losses ... they are all gifts where we will find buried treasure. It may be difficult to see right now, especially if we're going through a time of suffering. Past experiences can be painful, but unless we release and let them go, they can stay with us and become part of our present and our future. In order to release the past, we have to be willing to forgive, surrender and let go.
If we are holding onto the past, if there are stories that we keep playing over and over, or patterns that we keep reliving, use the energy of this New Moon to surrender and to release.
Stay strong! Remember we are not alone, and that our present situation is not our final destination. The best is yet to come. Have faith and trust in Spirit. Spirit will not abandon us. Love is always with us, guiding us and protecting us. May we have the eyes to see and the heart to know!
It's important to write down our reflections for 2017 and the treasures that we've discovered and are grateful for. Then, make a dream list for 2018. What would we like more of? What do we want to happen? Spend time imagining, daydreaming, meditating. Let images and words surface from deep within. What feeds our Soul? Can we feel the excitement, the anticipation, the joy? Allow these feelings to mingle with the power of our creativity. Co-creating with Spirit, all things are possible. Next year at this time, we can look back over this list and celebrate all that we have been blessed with.
