New Moon in Aries and at long last, Mercury goes direct!

Keeping an eye on the skies...

This one you can't see because the Moon is dark, but we know it's there.

On Sunday, April 15th, a New Moon occurs in the sign of Aries. It is a good time to take action – try something new and innovative, and go at it with gusto and confidence; be assertive without being abrasive; take charge of our lives; start a brand new project, and discover our own personal courage.

With the New Moon in Aries, it's a great time to take a good look at ourselves. Aries is the most impulsive energy in the zodiac. Action-oriented and single-minded, they often act without a plan or any concern for the consequences.

Whether your Sun Sign is Aries or not, we all have this type of energy within ourselves. So this is an opportunity for new beginnings, and we have the chance to make important changes in our lives, to take the time to make some solid and realistic plans in preparation to reap the rewards from these new beginnings in about 2 weeks' time, after the Full Moon occurs.

We might consider following a hunch or taking a risk or treating ourselves to a little adventure. Aries learns through experience and action...just be sure to come up with a plan first and think about consequences. Be wary of impatient or impulsive moves. It's also a good time for us to be happy and learn that we can rely on ourselves and be self-sufficient, without blaming others for not helping us out.

And lo and behold, Mercury goes direct on Sunday too. So if you've spent the last three weeks or so, mentally scrambled, misunderstood or indecisive, relief is on the way. Mercury rules or is in charge of things like transportation, communication and commerce, so when it is in Retrograde and not operating smoothly, there can be plenty of mishaps. It will still need a couple of days to regulate its orbit. Remember, Mercury has been out of its usual forward orbit for about 3 weeks, so when it's moving from retrograde to direct motion, it's like waking up from a deep sleep. It will take a few days to get re-oriented again. So, hang it there! Any delay, aggravation, agitation, turmoil or distress about things having to do with Mercury will soon be resolved.
