Why a Natal Report or Astrology Reading may not appear to "fit" and what is their value?

I love astrology and I love it when others are able to celebrate the gift that they are.

You know how excited I am about this new service that I'm offering, Interpretive Reports!

Interpretive Reports and Astrology Readings are tools that can help us discover the beautiful gift that we are. Warning: That first report or reading is only the beginning. It often leaves us wanting more.

Our birth chart shows where the planets were at the moment of our birth, telling us the gifts and challenges that we have been gifted with in our lifetime.

I get so excited after a person has a report or reading, and they say, "Wow! That really describes me! How did you know?"

But there are those times when someone may say, "There are things that don't "fit", that do not describe me. It's 50-50."

So why may that happen?

Remember with the General Natal Report, it is a general report, not a reading. So it speaks in generalities, though they are specific to the person and can be quite accurate.

A report or reading:

- may describe the way that we are today

- may describe the way that we used to be, the lower road that we once took

- may even describe something that we're not even aware of yet

- may describe something that we're aware of but have been trying to bury and keep hidden.

The thing about the planetary energies that I'm learning is that there's always a high road and a low road that can be taken. We may have these gifts/challenges within us, but it's up to us how we choose to respond. It's kind of like being gifted with a furnished house but we choose where to put things, what to keep, what to get rid of, what to add, how we decorate, how we take care of things... So though some things may seem to contradict or not fit, it reminds me that there are always the two sides within us and we have the choice of which one we feed or starve, which one we choose or not choose.

Sometimes our choices aren't so great and may take us down a particular path and at some point in time we may be faced with the same issue again and are able to choose again. Whatever choice we make is up to us and no matter what it is, the Lord is with us and walks with us on the journey. We are always Divinely directed and Divinely protected.

So our Natal report or an astrology reading may describe the way that we used to be, the lower road that we once took. That "shadow" side of ourselves may be something we don't like and often keep buried or try to ignore. Given the right circumstances though it can easily rear its ugly head and we're called again to make a choice, and hopefully choose what is life-giving.

My natal report says, "You have a nasty habit of holding on to past hurts, resentments, and guilt - and to keep such feelings to yourself. It is important for you to learn to forgive and let go, as well as to express your feelings openly and directly, rather than hiding or repressing them."

This image from Disney World, Orlando described me perfectly at one time...

"Me arriving at work willing to be a better person. ... 1 hour later."

Thankfully, my lived experiences, spiritual growth and wisdom have helped me to change and grow. All in Divine appropriate timing. We are always protected and Divinely directed. I firmly believe that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Al-Anon and AA taught me that "Resentment is the 'number one' offender. It destroys more alcoholics than anything else." and those of us who may be co-dependent too. In AA's Big Book, the chapter on "How It Works" started me on a journey to recovery. I always felt I should be an "honorary alcoholic". <G> You don't have to be a member of AA to find hope and recovery in the Steps. It's a spiritual program and lifestyle. There are still those times, though, when this side of me will pop up. It happened a short while ago, in fact, when Peter Navarro, a trade adviser to President Donald Trump, said that there was a "special place in hell" for our Prime Minister. Boy, did that ever trigger me! Still haven't forgiven that.... Guess I still have more growing to do. <G>

A Natal report or an astrology reading may even describe something that we're not even aware of yet.

I had my first-ever astrology reading in January 2017, just before I started my studies with Debra Silverman. Seeing my birth chart for the first time and hearing this astrologer, who knew nothing about me, describe me and my life was eye-opening. How could she possibly know some of the things that she was telling me? One thing I learned was that there were signs in my birth chart that pointed to me being an educator...my Leo Sun is in the 9th House, which is about higher education, religion and philosophy and being a seeker. And my Saturn is in the sign of Sagittarius, the quintessential teacher, the freedom seeker, the endless optimist, the lifelong learner, and wants to share the wisdom. I am always curious, always learning, always seeking the More, digging deep.

This may also explain why, when I was having a difficult year and contemplated quitting, I could never think of what else I would do. I could never see myself doing anything other than teaching.

The thing that I didn't know was that in my 10th House, which is the House of Career and Public Standing, I have 3 planets...Uranus, which rules science and astrology; Mercury, which is about communication, the way you think, the Messenger; and Pluto, which is about transformation, power, and passion.

So it's no wonder that I have a passion for astrology and it's been so amazing how it is transforming me.

Now, if I had been told this 5 years ago, I would have just laughed and thought you were crazy. Me? Astrology? You've got to be kidding.

But the gift is there. I would not have been able to see it at that time.

When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

A Natal report or astrology reading may describe how we are today.

I learned that I am a double Scorpio. I have a Scorpio Moon and my Rising Sign is in Scorpio. When I discovered what that meant, it gave me one of my first

A-ha, that explains it, moments! So fascinating.

One of the things that my Natal report says about my Scorpio Moon is "You are not content with superficial appearances and are always probing beneath the surface of things for hidden motives. You have a great deal of emotional depth." For my Scorpio Rising, one of the things that the report says is "Nothing is done halfway. In fact, you are intensely involved and often jealously attached to whatever you care about, be it person, idea or cause."

That is sooo true! For me, it's go deep or go home. I'm not good with ordinary chit-chat. I am not interested in the occult, but I love things that are spiritual and of Spirit. I do have a fascination with psychology and why people do what they do, including myself.

I can sometimes drive others crazy because of the depths and lengths that I will go to to find the answer to a question or to create something new.

In my teaching career, I was blessed to be able to teach my passion, Christian Living, and I was often in charge of Masses or prayer services. I never liked doing the same thing twice and I would try to involve students, teachers, parents, community members, and would look after the readings, intentions, music, decorating, practices... I loved it. It was my gift, my passion, and I would always be drawn to the More. But that was me, and I know that others could find that intimidating at times. I was never good at keeping it simple. I'm still not. <G>

Discovering this about myself, though, helped me to accept that part of myself, to learn that there was nothing wrong with me, that it was indeed a gift, and to embrace it.

Now, remember that Natal reports are NOT astrology readings. The general natal reports are generated by a computer software program. Astrology readings are given by astrologers who have studied astrology, who have taken a close look at your birth chart and can take the information that they've gathered and give you a personal reading, describing you in ways that a natal report can't, helping you to see with loving eyes your strengths and challenges, and providing you with direction and wisdom and hope.

When giving a reading, an astrologer can take a look at things that a general natal report would not include. S/he can describe intimately the beautiful gift that you are and answer questions that you may have. Having an astrology reading can be a spiritual, life-changing, enlightening experience.

One of the things that a general natal report will not talk about is the Elements...Air, Earth, Fire and Water. If I was giving you a personal reading, I would be talking about the Elements in your birth chart. I love the Elements! They can give us great insight. I would also be looking particularly at the planet, Saturn, the North Node, how your planets relate to each other, and how the current position of the planets relate to the position of your planets at the time of your birth. There is just so much to explore!

One of the first things I learned when studying astrology with Debra Silverman, I have 4 planets in Fire signs. My Sun being in Leo, I never really "felt" the Fire in my life, never really recognized myself as a Leo. So where was all this Fire that I should be feeling?

I took Debra's Elemental survey, and learned that my Water was very high, scoring 9.5 out of 10. Basically, my Water was drowning out my Fire.

The survey showed me where I was now in my life.

My birth chart showed me what I was born with, what I am called to be.

And an astrologer was able to give meaning to all of this in a reading. For me, I learned that I needed to work on my Fire. It was suggested that I try dance and exercise. I got a personal trainer. I was exercising regularly. Everyone would keep asking me, "Don't you feel the "rush"?" What rush? When I exercised, all I could feel was tired and sore. No rush. Awhile later, I was blessed with a reading from another astrologer. In that reading, we looked at my relationship to power, how I filter a lot of things, how as a young child I was afraid of speaking up, of using my own voice for fear that I wouldn't be cared for or for fear of what would happen if I did. I lost my voice. I lost my words. I had put myself into a self-protective loop, fearing my emotions, learning that it was safer to be seen and not heard. I didn't want to contribute to the difficulties that my parents were going through. My astrologer was gently but firmly letting me know that it was time now to let that go.

I was at a crossroads, having experienced a tremendous amount of grief over my lifetime, and it was important now to get out of my head and stop intellectualizing those experiences. It was time now to use the Water that I was gifted with and feel the feelings and let them go.

She told me directly that I was afraid of my own power, my own self-value.

That was one of the reasons why when I exercised, I could not feel the rush. She encouraged me to continue to push myself beyond the limits that my trainer was setting for me, and that led me to boxing.

Boxing has really helped to ignite my Fire. I can feel the "rush", the emotion, and most of all, I love it and it's fun! And this is with over 50 years of lived experience and I'm just now learning this about myself!

Forever learning and growing.

So a dear friend said, "Okay, so I get a reading or report. What is the value in all of this? Why is it so important?" Great question!

I believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I always thought it was the other way around, that we were human beings having a spiritual experience, looking for God somewhere out there.

What I've learned is that God is within us, and from the moment that we're born it's like we have amnesia...we've forgotten where we've come from, why we're here, and we spend most if not all of our lives trying to get back to Source/God/our Higher Power. That's where we find our purpose. Only Love itself can fill the emptiness and ache that's in our hearts. It's a journey of coming Home, to Life, to Love. It's remembering who we are, children of the Divine.

And astrology can be a tool to help us fall in love all over again with the gift that God created, to see ourselves the way that God sees us, in all our glory and imperfections and trust that we are not a mistake. God does not make mistakes. God does not create junk. Astrology can help us find the treasure that's in the challenges and struggles that we face. It can help bring us Home.

That's why I love astrology. That's why I'm passionate about it and want so much to share it with others. That's why I feel called to serve.

A Natal Report is just the beginning. It whets your appetite and often leaves you wanting more...more answers to questions, another report, an astrology reading, perhaps even studying astrology yourself. There's so much to learn and discover. After a Natal Report, if you would like to delve deeper and learn more, I am available for an astrology reading.

I am still a newbie. My commitment to you is to continue to study, practice, and get better at this new language of astrology. If you would like to be referred to an astrologer with more experience for a personal reading, I will happily do that. I have some good friends who have been practicing and studying for many years, who give awesome readings.

My hope is that these interpretive reports help you learn more about yourself, discover the treasure in the challenges, whet your appetite, and ignite your passion for Life, for Love, and the journey Home.

Your Natal Report or Astrology reading is to help you define your strengths. What you do with what you learn, that's up to you, and that is when the magic happens.

Wishing you abundant blessings!
