August 8 at 9:50 a.m. EDT, we have a New Moon in Leo.

August 8 also brings a Lion's Gate Alignment, Sun and Moon in Leo square Uranus in Taurus; and Saturn, Mercury and the numerology of 8:8 added to the mix!

Wow! Tremendous energies in the heavens!

Our Moon in fiery, dramatic, magnetic, flamboyant Leo speaks to our "inner child". It's a warm, generous, loving, playful position. The pride of the Lion can keep us from pettiness, but it can also prevent us from opening up and sharing how we truly feel. It's a time when we seek attention, wanting to stand out for our special gifts and talents. It's a great time to engage in creative activities, working and playing with our children, expressing our generosity, and taking risks. Be bold! Be proud!

Here the energies give great warmth and stability, and emotions can be reached through our heart rather than our head. Open to new ideas, highly expressive and more at ease in being the center of attention and working with others, we have no use for petty or narrow thinking.

The low road of Leo Moon: We are more self-serving, self-centred, arrogant or controlling.

The high road of Leo Moon: We are more passionate, innovative, unbiased and fun-loving. Remember, the choice is ours.

There is a part of Leo in all of us, and at the time of this New Moon, it's an opportunity to take a loving look at ourselves and embrace the courage of the Lion, to relax and just BE, letting our Light shine for all to see.

Initially, we may feel in between a rock and a hard place. The questions are the same: who am I, really? What makes me different from others? What’s my place in the world?

The New Moon is applying to a conjunction with Mercury, which means we are now ready to integrate the lessons of the Saturn-Uranus square into our individual mental framework (Mercury).

We will finally understand what the Saturn-Uranus square was all about, and what the implications of this square are for us, at an individual level.

Mercury is our mind. Everything that happens in our life, eventually has to go through Mercury’s filter. Without Mercury, we would never be able to understand, reflect and learn from our experiences.

When we give from the heart (Leo), this is when we truly connect with other people, we make friends, and find a sense of community and belonging."
