Mercury Goes Direct: An Invitation to find Peace and be the Peacemaker

Woo-hoo! It's February 20 and Mercury stations direct today!!! So if you've spent the last three weeks or so, mentally scrambled, misunderstood or indecisive, relief is on the way. Mercury rules or is in charge of things like transportation, communication and commerce, so when it is in Retrograde and not operating smoothly, there can be plenty of mishaps. It will still need a couple of days to regulate its orbit. Remember, Mercury has been out of its usual forward orbit for about 3 weeks, so when it's moving from retrograde to direct motion, it's like waking up from a deep sleep. It will take a few days to get re-oriented again. So, hang it there! Any delay, aggravation, agitation, turmoil or distress about things having to do with Mercury will soon be resolved.

And so I asked Spirit, "What does Mercury Direct want us to know for our highest good?" and was gifted with...

King of Water

*

Generous, diplomatic, fair, gentle, a good listener, nonjudgmental peacemaker, mediator

*

"I honor and respect all beings, including myself, and see the commonalities we share and the Spirit that is in all of us."

"I listen to other voices and blend them with my own wisdom before settling on an opinion, making a decision, or taking an action."

"I gently and lovingly lead others away from fear and divisiveness and into harmonious collaboration."

*

from Colette Baron-Reid's "The Good Tarot" card deck

*

The King is all about being fair and non-judgmental. The peacemaker. What is more important: to be right or to be at peace? Be the change that I want to see in the world. Gently and lovingly lead others away from fear and divisiveness and into harmonious collaboration. What is the highest good for the planet and for each other? Love. Kindness.

The image reminds me of Neptune, the god of the sea. Neptune, the brother of Jupiter and Pluto, had a reputation for having a violent temper. Tempests and earthquakes were a reflection of his violent rage. He could be difficult and vindictive; his behaviour reflected in the unpredictable nature of the sea. He was also known to be a lady's man, having had numerous affairs.

*

The wisdom of Neptune is self-sacrifice (to let go, surrender, to lose oneself), empathy (compassion), dissolving (to merge, escape, be indistinct), illusion (to idealize, dream, imagine).

*

Perhaps Neptune has grown and matured, inviting us to take a good look at ourselves, let go of anger and resentment, forgive ourselves and others, and find peace. By looking upon the beautiful, peaceful blue of the planet, we are invited to find peace within and to bring peace to our troubled world.
