New Moon in Libra and Pluto turns direct!

October 6 is going to be an interesting day in the heavens. We have 4 planets in the active, artistic, harmonious, diplomatic sign of Libra. Libra characteristics like being easygoing, peaceable, positive, a superb listener may be found in our own life and in those around us when the Moon is in this sign. Libra is “I/We Balance”. It is all about partnerships and all that entails ... compromising, balancing, negotiating, cooperating. The challenge is to work WITH, to create interdependence. So the Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury are all in the sign of Libra, working to support us in these efforts. October 6 also brings us a New Moon in Libra at 7:05 a.m. EDT, and lo and behold, after being retrograde since April 27, Pluto turns direct in Capricorn!!!

While in retrograde, Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, invited us to turn inward and look at power and control in our own life. Where were we too controlling or manipulative of others or situations? Which of our controlling habits, compulsions, addictions or prejudices needed to be eliminated? During these past few months, it was time to take responsibility, face our destructive behaviours, and let them go...out of love for ourselves and others. How did that work out for us?

Loss, disappointment or hardship may have become our teachers, showing us what we needed to let go of or change. Transformation is never easy just ask any caterpillar. Now with Pluto going direct, we are in a time of renewal, rebirth, action. And we are being supported by the energies of the New Moon in Libra, a time of planting seeds and rebirth. Our time as a caterpillar has expired. Our wings are ready to fly.

This New Moon in Libra is a time of planting seeds. Its energy continues to help bring these seeds to fruition over time. The Full Moon in Aries on October 20 is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It's a time of harvesting those seeds that had been planted. Waxing and waning. Planting and harvesting. All Divine appropriate timing. Plant those seeds, water and nurture them, and leave the rest in the Creator's hands. Trust Spirit.

We are blessed to have Djwal Khul walk with us on our journey as we learn to create balance and interdependence in our relationships and follow our dharma. This is not always an easy thing to do.

With our New Moon in Libra, we tend to solve problems through compromise and diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace and reconciliation that we long for. Decisions do not come easily as we tend to see both sides to any given situation and we may also fear losing the approval of others. Let's not be afraid to reach out to that special someone to nurture our need to belong and to feel that we matter. Indeed, each of us has a purpose and it's something that only we can give. Our presence is needed. We are the present that this world needs.
