Our Capricorn New Moon and the Transformative Power of Pluto: A Story of Rebirth and Reunion

January 12-13 brings us a New Moon in Capricorn (January 13 at 12:00 am EST/January 12 at 9:00 pm PST). It's a powerful way to start off the new year.

The New Moon is a time of new beginnings. Capricorn invites us to take an honest look at the past year, face the impact of our actions, weed out what hasn't been working for us, and find new ways to nurture our hopes and dreams, building them on a strong foundation that will carry us forward in the year ahead. Capricorn gives us the determination to fix what's worth fixing and to get the job done right.

With the New Moon in Capricorn, we may feel obligated to get things done, putting the needs of others ahead of our own. Don't forget that we have our own wants and desires that need to be fulfilled. Dig deep. It's a time to embrace our feelings and ask for what we really want. Listen to OUR heart and soul, and ACT to make OUR dreams come true.

The material world is my playground, but I need to be careful not to be attached to outcomes. This is a warning to me to watch for excess and to know what's not healthy for me. When this card shows up, it's a sign that I am focused on the material realm and need to be aware of any excess or addictive behavior: my own or that of others.

That's interesting. Adam and Eve. This is a story of separation, losing sight of Spirit. Looking at the card... gold coins...beautiful sleeping fairy...bite out of apple in shape of a heart...not done in malice...we get attached to the desire of the outcome or attached to what we have already manifested. Eating the apple, we can fall asleep. We need to take care of ourselves. This is not about beating ourselves up. We need to become mindful of our addictions, our attachments, our need for numbing, our desire for adrenaline, for binging, our attempts to disappear from our life. Looking back, when were we like that? What are we afraid of? Where are we in excess? Why do we think this will make us whole?

This is a call to wake up.

With this potent Capricorn energy, we have the chance to create some serious change/order in our lives. It's a time to let go of who/what is no longer serving us, what is not in our highest good. With the tenacity, resourcefulness, discipline, and wisdom of Capricorn, it’s time to make some solid plans and to set the stage for the transformative Plutonic energies of rebirth, reaping the rewards from our new beginnings.

No need to worry or be afraid. We are not alone. Let's tell a new story, a story of reunion, rebirth, reuniting with Spirit, with our Higher Self, with our inner authority. With our Higher Power as our partner, we will always succeed. Let Spirit lead and be our guide.
