Our Gemini Moon

On December 26, our Moon has moved into the lively, restless sign of Gemini. We may be more lively and energetic, and find ourselves drawn to activities that favour communication, reading, writing, teaching, thinking and learning. We are motivated by curiosity and a desire for variety, often getting so excited by the possibilities that we see, that we can end up taking on many pursuits at the same time and end up overextending ourselves. So though we may thrive on multi-tasking, it's important to be mindful of the commitments we make to others, and remember to take care of our own needs first. We can't pour from an empty cup.

One of our biggest challenges will be to not let our mind get in the way of what our heart and soul is calling us to do. Be aware of the fear-based limitations of time and money that our mind tries to use to keep us from following our heart.

21 - The Wasp

anger, retaliation, jealousy

The Wasp has a stinger that hurts with poison when confronted. Be mindful of how you address the world when the Wasp appears on your path. If you're not careful, you may sting or be stung. The Wasp reminds you that pain is a choice, so don't waste your stinger on a petty quarrel. Are you jealous or envious or the victim of someone who is? Jealousy and envy are the children of fear and lack - send love, light, and compassion, and stay clear of the sting.

Mind your own business today, and save it for a life-and-death situation. Chances are that whatever comes up today is smaller than you perceive it to be in the grand scheme of things. On the other hand, when you feel the sting of a wasp, be smart and swat it away! Defend yourself! The Wasp sends an omen of warning to protect yourself as well.

Now that's interesting! How does this possibly fit with our Gemini Moon? I almost wanted to put the card back and ask for another one. <G> This may have something to do with the busy-ness of the season, multi-tasking, trying to be all things to all people, trying to make everyone happy, and where we may end up finding ourselves when we don't put our own needs first...taking time to rest, sleep, meditate, taking time for ourselves. We may end up finding ourselves in conflict with those that we love the most, especially when we're living in such close proximity and may be unable to get out or get the space that we may need.

And so we may find that we are short-tempered and that those "mole hills" become "mountains". The Wasp is revealing the low road of Gemini, a road that can be contradictory, cunning, deceitful, duplicitous, flighty, heartless, inconsiderate, nervous and scattered. The high road of Gemini is adaptable, articulate, charming, clever, curious, friendly, informative, intelligent, logical, objective, quick-witted and responsive.

So it's important to take a step back and breathe. Become the Observer. If in a conflict, ask ourselves, "How important is it?" Call in the energies of Saturn and Jupiter to help temper and moderate us. Use our stinger wisely, and if necessary, we just may need to use it to protect ourselves. Stay safe, everyone!
