Saturn turns Direct and the Power of 1010

October 10...the 10th day of the 10th month AND Saturn turns direct in Aquarius at 10:17 p.m. EDT.

On May 23, Saturn turned retrograde in Aquarius, the visionary, the sign of rational thinking and humanitarianism! It has been a time to slow down, think and reflect on our goals, priorities and commitments. How have we been doing in relation to the promises we made to others and to ourselves? Saturn retrograde asked us to take responsibility for our own lives. Saturn is known for self-discipline, hard work, groundedness, life lessons, and being a strict teacher, trying to bring out the best in us, reminding us that things happen for us, not to us. Love is always trying to lead us, to guide us, to show us the way.

Saturn retrograde has been a time to look at where we are, where we've been and how our actions led us here, taking responsibility for where we are right now. We have the power to bring out the best in ourselves, in others and in our world. Working together with our Higher Power, angels and guides, Saturn gives us the courage and discipline to do this and to make any changes that we feel are necessary. Today let's ask, "How can we best serve the highest good of all?"

What has our Higher Power been trying to teach us? What has been the gift of Saturn retrograde? What lesson do I need to learn or remember? Perhaps it's a lesson for me to slow down and take better care of myself. Perhaps it's a lesson that I need to stay in the present moment and rediscover the beauty of the present. Perhaps there's someone who needs my immediate focus, care, attention, love. Whatever the lesson may be, let's pray "Thy will be done, not mine," and ask, "How may I be of service?"

Once we know the lessons that Saturn retrograde has been trying to teach us, we are now able to move forward, acting upon the lessons we have learned, taking responsibility, and setting new goals and plans. Aquarius is the visionary, the one who inspires us to think beyond what is immediately visible. With Saturn in Aquarius, it's a time of innovation and sharing future plans. It's an opportune time to journal and get in touch with insights that will help us direct our future. Personal freedom becomes very important to us. We flourish on intellectual causes and motivation, change, and unique or out of the ordinary experiences. What a great time to get involved and fight for a cause that's near and dear to our hearts, to stand up for those less fortunate, to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves!

The sign of liberation, romance, beauty, and innovation, Aquarius values authenticity above all else, so with Saturn turning direct, we may find a new sense of freedom, feeling the urge to revamp our style and relationships in ways that align more deeply with who we truly are.

And October 10 brings the magic of the 1010 energy portal! 10th day of the 10th month at 10:10 a.m.! This is a time for the NEW! New opportunities. New pathways. New beginnings. New frequencies. New understandings. New direction. Transformation. Infinite Possibilities! New Life!

Innocence, naïveté, foolishness, early knowledge not yet integrated, the ability to see the world untainted, and learning ability - these are the aspects of the Novice as she appears in your life.

The Novice is reminding you to be teachable and humble. If you don't know something, don't pretend that you do. Chances are that you'll make an error that may cost you more than you wish to pay.

New information is coming, and this is the time to be open to learning and expanding. The Novice also reminds you to be like a child and remember the wonder and awe you once had for the world around you ... when discovering magic was an essential part of everyday experience.

The Novice reminds you that you need to stop and ask yourself, "What lesson must I learn here?" The lesson is always mirrored in the experience in front of you. Dig deep into the workings of whatever situation you're inquiring about. You don't have to look far, for the answer is right in front of you.

Sometimes it may feel as if you have two left feet and don't know how to dance or that perhaps you're fumbling in the dark and fear that you may be left behind. It's all right to be in the "not-knowing." This is the place where new understanding takes time to integrate.

Be gentle with yourself. The greatest gift the Novice reminds you of is that you're always at the beginning of some area of your life. Patience and slow movement is required when the Novice appears.

Before moving forward, perhaps you need time to journal your thoughts and receive clarity about what the Mystery invites you to learn. Then rejoice! The Novice of Avalon is on a path to higher knowledge and abundant manifestation and doesn't stay a Novice for long.
