Welcome February! We're beginning with an invitation to develop drive and strength of character!

February 1 sees our Aquarius Sun square Mars in Taurus.

*

Sun - our personality, identity, ego

*

Aquarius - motto is "I Know"; revolutionary, humanitarian; Air sign

- low road - aloof, defiant, obstinate, inflexible, uncaring, rebellious

- high road - collaborative, freedom-loving, humanitarian, innovative, revolutionary, selfless

*

Mars - action, passion, assertiveness, anger, to strengthen, protect, impulsive

*

Taurus - motto is "I Have"; practical, slow and steady; Earth sign

- low road - greedy, callous, materialistic, obstinate, overindulgent, possessive, resentful, tedious

- high road - affectionate, artistic, calm, dependable, diligent, generous, grounded, introspective, loyal, patient, practical, steadfast

*

Square - places obstacles, teaches lessons, creates tension, stress, challenge; can indicate an area where a person can develop drive and strength of character by overcoming difficulties.

*

Cafe Astrology says, "We may have a hard time settling down, entertaining a strong urge to do something, to take action, and to make something happen, but we may not know how to direct this excess energy. We might feel the need for more challenges, enterprise, and initiative. Reactions tend to be defensive or competitive now, and we can be averse to negotiation or compromise. Energy output can run high if we choose to focus and exercise patience, however. ...Through restlessness stirred now, we might discover that we need to connect with our enterprising natures. Clashes of ego or shows of strength are possible."

*

And so I asked Spirit, "What does Sun square Mars want us to know for our highest good?" and was gifted with...

King of Air

*

Intellectual authority, reason over instinct, intellect over passion, successful negotiation, rules, laws

*

"Truth is everything."

"I think before I act."

"I work the universal laws with clear intention."

"Do I see how the foundations of the past affect the present and future?"

*

from Colette Baron-Reid's "The Good Tarot" card deck

*

King of Air represents discipline and reminds us of the need to think things through. Very wise, especially when the energies of Sun square Mars may encourage us to act impulsively and perhaps a tad too passionately. Whatever challenges or difficulties we may face, let us remember to slow down, pause, stop, take a breath, count to ten if we need to, and if we need to, count to ten again. <G>

*

And let us remember that we are never alone. Spirit/God/the Universe, our angels, spirit guides, ascended masters, loved ones in spirit are always with us and will guide and protect us. They always respect our free will, so we need to invite them into our lives. As Kyle Gray says, "the angels had a better capacity to help me when I approached them from a space of gratitude. Instead of begging for help, I started to pray in a way that my prayers were already answered. So instead of saying “please help me with this...” I’d say “thank you angels for resolving this situation, it feels so good to know you are guiding me today!”
